Middle School Ministries

Our middle school ministry exists to encourage and equip students in their faith.  Through various events and activities, we hope to help students learn about the life of Jesus, learn to serve others, and have a blast doing it!  The following are our regular weekly and yearly events:

Middle School Youth Group:  Wednesday Nights 7-8:30 in Downtown Rye, NY

Our youth group meetings are in our youth room downstairs at our church office.  We have a great collection of games that have been modified (or entirely invented) to achieve maximum awesomeness.  Some of our favorites:  “Alley Ball,”  “Basket Funnel Pong (with Cups!),” and “Human Foosball.”  Game time is followed by sharing, prayer, and a brief bible lesson.  Students join us from all over Westchester County.  All are welcome to join us!

Fall Activity

Middle School Sunday Class:  Sundays 11:30-12:15 after church service

Middle school Sunday class is currently on our series:  “Journey through the Old Testament.”  We are looking at the story of Israel and how God’s relentless faithfulness is as true for us now as it was then!  It is also important to see that all of the scriptures point to Christ and the fulfillment of his promises!

Middle School Retreat: – Every Year, last weekend in October

Each fall, we join other youth groups from the area at Lake Champion near Point Jervis, NY.  This is a great opportunity for students to grow in fellowship, make new friends, grow in their faith, and have fun doing it!  Student favorites include the zip line and the “screamer.”  More information at lake champion.younglife.org

Service Projects:

Middle school students frequently join other youth in Westchester for service projects in our community.  We help local food banks in food collection and packing grocery bags, as well as volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.   Last year, students provided help to a local church in Harlem clean up their storage closets and re-paint the offices.  Students learn that serving others is a rewarding experience that can be fun, too!

Other Events:

From Six Flags to bowling, movie nights, to paintball outings, there are plenty of ways to get involved!
