High School Ministries

Our high school ministry is to facilitate Christian fellowship, expand their understanding and assurance of their faith, and help them make their faith their own.  Through various events and activities, we hope to help students learn about the life of Jesus, learn to serve others, and have a blast doing it!  The following are our regular weekly and yearly events:

Junior and High School Youth Groups:  Wednesday Nights 7-8:30 in Purchase, NY

Our youth group meetings are in our youth room downstairs at our church office.  We have a great collection of games that have been modified (or entirely invented) to achieve maximum awesomeness.  Some of our favorites:  “Alley Ball,”  “Basket Funnel Pong (with Cups!),” and “Human Foosball.”  Game time is followed by sharing, prayer, and a brief bible lesson.  Students join us from all over Westchester County.  All are welcome to join us!

Fall Activity

High School Sunday Class:  Sundays 9 a.m. before church service

High school Sunday class is currently on our series:  “The Christian Perspective.”  We are looking at the story of the church, and how we are to engage the world we live in.  We have been discussing various issues (some of them controversial) in order to help students learn to think critically and Christianly about the world we live in.

High School Mission Trip: – Every Summer

Each summer, we take a team of students on a mission trip to help them grow in their faith and service to others.  We provided construction assistance for a family on the Cherokee Reservation in Cherokee, NC, and community assistance Philadelphia, PA.  Students learned teamwork, basic construction skills, and learned to share their faith with others!

Service Projects:

Highs school students frequently join other youth in Westchester for service projects in our community.  We help local food banks in food collection and packing grocery bags, as well as volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.  Students provided help to a local church in Harlem clean up their storage closets and re-paint the offices.  Students learn that serving others is a rewarding experience that can be fun, too!

Other Events:

From Six Flags to bowling, movie nights, to paintball outings, there are plenty of ways to get involved!
