---- Adult Education Class Descriptions ----

November 2018

  • How Are You Doing? A Quick Spiritual Inventory - This new Adult Ed class, taught by Lewis Trippett with Jim Keller, is designed to help you answer the questions, “How am I doing? Spiritually? No, really?”
  • Introduction to Trinity Church - New to Trinity Church? Join us at the half-day class which is designed for those who are interested in becoming participating members of Trinity Church, or, who simply wish to learn more about this church. Taught by Pastor Higgins on the first 3 Sundays of November.
  • Do Hard Things - For three Sundays, we will look at ways that students can grow in faith by choosing to “Do Hard Things.” So often, our culture sees the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility rather than as a launching pad for a life of service to Christ. As we gather different biblical insights, history, and modern examples of faith in action, we will seek to challenge teenagers to grow in faith by being agents of social and cultural change in their communities. Taught by Pastor Magneson.
  • Advent: The Once & Future Coming of Jesus Christ. In this class, the Rev. Fleming Rutledge, a long-time friend of Trinity Church, will discuss the importance of the Advent season—and why it’s important not to let Advent be lost in the planning for Christmas! The class title comes from her newest book.- On November 25th only.

December 2018

  • Preparing for the Coming King: The Theology of Christmas is a two-part class, taught by Pastor Higgins, that will meet on December 2 & December 9. We will begin the Advent season by looking at both the First & Second Comings of Jesus, and why the festival of the Incarnation is so important.
